Dry needlestick - what it is, what it helps for

Dry Needling Our seaside rehabilitation offer includes dry needling, among other things. This is an innovative procedure based on the therapy of muscle and fascial trigger points with acupuncture needles. Musculoskeletal trigger points (MPPS) may appear in the area of the muscle belly, in the fascia, on the course of superficial and deep muscle fibres. The main cause of MPPS is overload of the musculoskeletal system, trauma, stretching, long-term static work. Stress, emotional tension, metabolic problems, vitamin and micronutrient deficiency also have a great influence on the development of MPPS. Needle therapy in rehabilitation of Dry Needle Drinking consists in locating the trigger point of needle insertion into a localized point and triggering a trembling reaction. The more accurately we locate the trigger point and precisely hit it with a needle, the more effective the therapy is. Before starting to puncture an inefficient muscle, the therapist palpably performs a thorough examination to locate a tightened band with increased pressure sensitivity and a local hollow core response. Dry needle therapy This therapy is called dry needle therapy due to the fact that the needles used in the procedure do not have the possibility to introduce a drug or other substance into the patient's body. Dry needle should not be confused with acupuncture, the only similarity is the type of needle used. In traditional acupuncture, we work to restore energy flow in the energy channels by puncturing meridians. In dry needles our goal is to locate the musculoskeletal trigger points. Trigger points It is estimated that 85% of chronic pain cases are caused by musculoskeletal trigger points. The mechanism of action of dry needle is very complex and not fully understood. It is certain that it should not be an isolated technique and should always be included in a comprehensive treatment plan for patients with chronic and acute musculoskeletal pain. Dry needling is basically a painless procedure. Passing the needle through the skin is almost imperceptible, while puncturing the muscle trigger point causes an involuntary hollow muscle reaction, which can be perceived as unpleasant. It is also a very safe therapy if performed by a qualified specialist. The therapist, thanks to his knowledge of three-plane topographical anatomy, always knows where the top of the needle is going, avoiding puncturing structures that should not be punctured. Normal reaction after the treatment is a slight 1-2-day painfulness of the area, may appear paresthesias such as: tingling, stinging, radiation and the feeling of spreading tissue, may also occur a small hematoma. The treatment is extremely effective in the treatment of postoperative changes in the soft tissues and can be used when excessive tenderness and pain make it impossible to perform manual techniques. Dry needling is currently one of the best means to fight pain. When checking our rehabilitation packages by the sea or going on rehabilitation holidays by the sea, it is worth remembering about those treatments that can significantly improve the quality of our lives.
